Amazon loosens control of worker activities as a security problem increases. The internet retailer has confirmed to Bloomberg that it will withdraw from the rejuvenated effort to ban a private telephone in the warehouse. The staff was told on December 17 they could save their phone “until further notice.”

The company prohibits cellphones in the warehouse for years, but facilitates its approach as a pandemic punch Covid-19. The ban was ready to continue in January 2022.

While Amazon did not explain the decision, came after the tornado hit a warehouse in Edwardsville, Illinois, killing six people. It also follows a surge in Covid-19 case. Warehouse employees demand access to their mobile both for safety warnings and to stay in touch if an emergency occurs. The restored ban will appear deaf tones, especially considering the incident where the sender presses a driver to continue sending a package while Tornado goes up through the Edwardsville area.

The company is permitted to ban the use of telephone at the clock, whether it is to improve safety or prevent staff from leaked sensitive information. That attitude changes because smartphones are an important part of everyday life, and a combination of poor Amazon safety reputation with recent incidents can leave a small company to handle the rest of the ban – not without a significant public pushback.
