Tencent has added another game developer who is famous for its list after buying Slamfire, the parent company from Turtle Rock Studios, for an undexpressed amount. The studio was behind the left 4 dead, evolved and, recently, returned 4 blood. Co-Founders Phil Robb and Chris Ashton will continue to run the studio.

“By joining the Tencent family, we will not only get access to extensive resources and expertise, but we have found partners that encourage us to ambiter and visionary,” Turtle Rock wrote. The studio said it expanded his team to support 4 blood and created more multiplayer experiences. It adds it will be able to do something new: “Play the universe that we made into the actual old AAA franchise.”

Tencent has made more big steps in the playroom this year. It acquired Littlebigplanet 3 Sumo group developers this summer for $ 1.26 billion. As analyst at Daniel Ahmad noted, the company has bought or invested in more than 100 companies related to games in 2021. For example, taking bets in Remedy Entertainment and Life is a strange studio Dontnod.
